Join us in Prayer for NP CCC Freshmen Recruitment Drive!

We really appreciate your prayers for our Welcome Tea coming up this Thursday,
26 April :) Feel free to join us at NP Blk73-03-23 at 5.15pm :) If not, do join
us in your prayers and thoughts!

Praise and thanksgiving for NP Freshmen Recruitment thus far:
1. More than 360 Christian contacts generated so far! All our SMs and staff had
been faithfully calling up and challenging Freshmen to join us :) Response had
been pretty good! Praise God :)

2. Praise the Lord that all our 3000 Indifference CDs are fully distributed!
Yeah! No more leftovers :p Pray for all who received to be touched by the music
and God's presence!

3. We've an amazing response from pre-believers indicating that they are
interested to know more about Christ thru CCC's activities! Haha, yeah, we
counted: 270 out of the 1800 we surveyed! That's 15%! Yeah, pray that we'll
also be faithful in following up with the Non-Christians soon and invite them
for our overnight camp! We are excited to begin reaching out to International
Students in NP as the Lord brought many of them to our paths and who indicated
openness to know more! It's Harvest time!

4. Our very first Prayer Dedication Meeting combined with CF was an amazing
success :) All of us (abt 50) enjoyed praying for each other and also the
interaction had been great! Some freshmen joined us too :) One of the sch's
director, Adrian, joined us and encouraged us that seeing Christians coming to
pray for NP has been his dream and prayer all these years, it has finally
begun!

Specific Requests:
1. Welcome Tea "Flamengo". I'll be speaking at our WT on Matthew 5:14-16 about
how we are to be the light of the world :) I'll sharing stories from VT's
shooting incident to help challenge their thoughts on how we ought to live our
lives as Christians and what kind of legacy do we want to leave behind after we
die.
We are trusting God for a good turnout of 100 students. Pray that our seniors
will take initiative to welcome newcomers warmly!

2. Overnight Camp: proposal had been sent in late, pray that we'll still be
able to get rooms to use for our OC - 4-5May. Pray for good bonding with
freshmen and esp non-Christians to join us :)

3. Discipleship Group formation: praise God that our SMs had been already
forming their DGs and many are open to join us. Pray for our SMs to challenge
the freshmen well to join us and grow in our NP Movement!

"Spiritual Movements in EVERY School so that EVERY NP Student knows SOMEONE who
truly follows JESUS!"

Dear all,

Pls pray... if u haven't heard the news yet , there was a deadly shooting in Virginia Tech (VT), USA, on Monday, 16 April 07. 33 students & staff shot dead. It pains and grieves my heart. Campus students & lecturers losing their innocent lives. Through the reading of the reports on CNN, and various websites, my heart goes out to the killer. He's a South Korean, 23 yr old student. He's been staying in America since young. But he had been known to be one of strange character by most who met/knew him. I feel sad and burdened for many student who are in a foreign culture. Depression, deep loneliness and isolation can really cause tragedies to happen. I feel even more burdened to pray for the many international students in our midst/all over the world. Pls be a friend to them if you can. Pls extend a loving hand to towards them. Many are feeling lost, empty and lonely...struggling to 'fit' in to the new environment. Though we are still unsure about this Killer's motives, but I am reminded of another Campus killing incident in Monash University, Melbourne, 2002. The Killer- an International student who struggled with English n communication.

Pls pray for the grieving families of those 33 students and staff who lost their lives in VT. I know the world's praying and grieving for the lost of these students and staff, but let's not forget the grieving family of the Killer. Many must be very angry with the Killer, but he is already dead. Pray for forgiveness and healing to take place. Pray for spiritual revival to take place in all campuses around the world. Pray for Christians to be real people with real emotions who feel for the lost and broken because we believe in a real God who loves.

Tragedy at Virginia Tech
Students and staff members respond in prayer

Updated: 18.Apr.2007

The world continues to watch with horror regarding Monday's shootings at Virginia Tech.

On campus, there is a large Campus Crusade for Christ group, nicknamed Cru. Ten staff members serve a group of more than 500 involved students.

At least 3 of the shooter's fatal victims were students involved with Cru at Virginia Tech.

Responding in Prayer

"We had a prayer meeting Monday night for our students and the students of some other organizations," says Dave Broadwell, who has worked with Cru at Virginia Tech since 1991. "Most students are shocked and numb at this point, not sure what to think and feel. I feel the same way."

The day after the shootings, the staff members agreed to spend the day in the Cru office to pray with students and talk with them.

At noon on Wednesday, the team planned to pray with other Christian groups on the drillfield--a very central place on campus, says Broadwell.

How You Can Pray

The staff team invites the watching world to join with them in prayer, depending on God.

"Please pray that amidst it all that the Lord would be glorified, families would be comforted and students would grieve appropriately," says Broadwell. "I have a feeling no one is going to know how to move on from here."

Pls pray...that's the only thing we can do. God hears us...just pray...

Grieving,
Winnie Joy -
I will still rejoice in the Lord even in such a circumstance, because I believe God's purposes will still be fulfilled and accomplished even in a tragedy like this. Pray and reflect...what is your response?

Appreciate your Partnership through Prayers!!!

Going on Mission with our Mighty Savior, who is MIGHTY TO SAVE!

I'm leaving soon for my mission trip to Thailand, with my 8-member team! Sorry for not sending my newsletter to anyone, I've been sooo busy! Haha, but I guess this Prayer Letter is more important ;) After explaining to you all about Southern Cross the other time, believe it's no longer as foreign as before, appreciate your prayers for my team and I as we trust the Lord to reach out to the China tourists in Pattaya thru distribution of evangelistic materials and also doing lotsa Prayer walking around the places we distribute. We'll also be visiting the slums areas and do special prog like skit, songs and gospel message n testimonies. Just found out that we're visiting 3 slum areas and donating water and rice as well as reaching out to about 130 adults and 50 children! Pray that we'll find our confidence and adequacy in the Lord, coz most of us are so inexperienced in reaching the Thai slum villagers. Do pray for us to unite together as a team and love one another as God loves us ;)

John 13:34-35 is my prayer for my team:
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Mighty to Save by Hillsongs is our Mission Trip Theme Song too! Let this be our prayer to God!
Artist: Hillsong Australia
Album: Mighty To Save
Track: Mighty To Save

Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
A kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything i believe in
Now i surrender

Shine your light and let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus

It's MORPHing time! METAmorphosis is back in town!
26-30 Dec 2006! Pray for the 500 conferees gathered to have an amazing life transformation as our lives be touched by the Presence of our Almighty God @ our Annual Tertiary Student Conference - Metamorphosis! This year's theme is:
Movements Everywhere - be that SOMEONE! :) who truly follows Jesus!

Lord, we welcome You to change us! Come! Spirit, come!

As I was preparing for one of the Meta training sessions: Lordship & Personal Rights - Gen12ii mission training... A song kept ringing in my head... a familiar tune... then I soon realized it's this year's Meta theme song! Hosanna by Paul Baloche! It's amazing how the Lord's preparing me... I've been feeling frustrated with myself for being slow in my preparation. But year after year, God never failed to remind us of His power in the midst of our tiredness, frustrations and inadequacies in preparing for the conference.

It's ALL about HIM, not about us.

Appreciate specific prayers:
1. God to be glorified -- when we are most satisfied in Him -- as written by a well-known author, John Piper. This phrase shall be my prayer - for all the Conferees to find our true satisfaction in God.
2. God's Word to transform our lives - by the renewing of our minds. How else can we be transformed except by God's Word who convicts our heart by the Holy Spirit?
3. God - to be made known -- there'll be workshops to train and equip the Conferees to share Christ more effectively! On 28th Dec, shall be the day where we go forth as an army of God to spread the Joy of knowing Christ personally to the hundreds and thousands in the streets of Singapore! Pls pray for us to be empowered by Holy Spirit to share God's word boldly! Amen!

Okiez... here's the theme song! So excited to share with u... it keeps ringing in my head...
Hosanna
Brenton Brown, Paul Baloche
Key: G
Verse 1:
Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You, we turn to You
Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for You, we long for You
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Pres - ence all our fears are washed away, washed away

Chorus:
Ho - san - na, ho - sanna
You are the God Who saves us, worthy of all our praises
Ho - san - na, ho - sanna
Come have Your way among us
We welcome You here, Lord Jesus

Verse 2:
Hear the sound of hearts returning to You, we turn to You
In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new, You make us new
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Pres - ence all our fears are washed away, washed away

'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Pres - ence all our fears are washed away,
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Pres - ence all our fears are washed away, washed away
(Repeat)
Ho - san - na, ho - san - na
Ho - san - na, ho - san - na

Jehovah Jireh, my Provider, His grace is sufficient for me!

Thank God for an amazing Sep-Oct school vacation... which was full of student planning retreats and preparations for the new semester and also the Passion Camp that really ended the holidays well :) Praise God! I've learnt much and enjoy the NP students alot all through these interaction time!

Lately, God had been teaching me to trust Him to provide. Through a simple lesson from the 5 loaves and 2 fish... I learnt at a recent Staff Conference:
1. Don't see what you don't have as important to do God's will.

2. Don't doubt what you have as insignificant to do God's will.
3. Surrender what you already have and that is sufficient for God to fulfill His vision for us.
4. Know that your God has everything to provide (even for the multitude!)

What I have all belongs to God and I gotta learn to be good steward of all that God entrusts to me... the responsibility is great... in God, all things are possible!

Movements everywhere...is it possible? The task seems immensely great! Huge! But God reminded me once again that in Him, all things are possible. Just believe! 1 Thessalonians 1 showed me that the early Christians demonstrated spirit-filled life as they depend on Holy Spirit to convict their hearts and empower them to spread God's
good news everywhere! Through their lives, they testify of their faithful labor in the Lord and out of love and hope in expectancy of Christ's return! Even in trials and tribulations, we can still rejoice because the Joy of the Lord is our strength! Hallelujah :P

The Lord gives and He can choose to take away too... "The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." Job 1:21
These few years, I've learnt to be content with what I have...it's tiring to keep striving... I'll learn to be still and trust in the Lord, be it ministry or personal life or relationships, God will provide. In Him, I trust. He who called me, is faithful to carry me through.

Enjoy some of my recent photos :) Hehe...had a hair cut recently and the aunty blew my hair straight! it's been years since I last had some straight hair.. hehe..took photos to remember :p
